Shillong, Oct 22: SuperCare hospital, Shillong has been granted the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals accreditation.
With this Supercare hospital becomes the first and only hospital in Meghalaya to get full NABH accreditation.
The NABH is a constituent board of the Qaulity Council of India (OCI), set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for health care organisations.
The NABH standards are currently the highest benchmark standard for hospital quality in India.

There are mainly two versions of the standards for allopathic hospitals: the full NABH suitable for large speciality and tertiary care level hospitals and entry level NABH meant mainly for smaller hospitals that do not have the infrastructure and resources to comply with the full NABH.
Supercare hospital received the NABH entry-level certification on October 5, 2021 and then secured the full NABH accreditation on September 29, 2022 which is valid upto September 30, 2026.
Hospital authorities said that patients are the biggest beneficiaries from both the full NABH accreditation and the entry level certification, as it results in a high quality of care and patient safety.
“Patients are served by credential medical staff. The rights of the patients are respected and protected. Patient satisfaction is regularly evaluated,†the hospital’s authorities said.
Quality accreditations and certifications also benefit the staff of the hospital as it provides for continuous learning, a good working environment, leadership and above all ownership of clinical processes.
Founder and Managing Director Dr RS Thangkhiew believes that the accreditation strengthens the vision of Supercare hospital.
Dr. Thangkhiew informed that the hospital fulfilled 150 NABH criteria after which the accreditation was granted.
Spread over two acres of land, Supercare Hospital has over 500 doctors, nurses and staff and has all the major medical departments to cater to the patients.
