‘Sur Ehrngiew ki Nong Malki’ sets week’s deadline to suspend police officers

Shillong, Aug 30: In an effort to exert pressure on the state government to give in to their demands for justice to former-HNLC, general secretary Cherish S Thangkhiew, a conglomeration of several pressure groups from Malki locality on Monday gave the government a seven-day deadline to suspend the police officers.

The ‘Sur Ehrngiew ki Nong Malki’ or the “Voice of Malki’, said that if the government fails to listen to their demand they will hold a rally in the locality.

Spokesperson of the forum Junestar Kharbuli said that the government has done the right thing by setting up a judicial inquiry to probe into the entire incident.

Kharbuli however said it is also high time the state government takes a call to suspend the police officers to allow a free and fair investigation in order for the truth to come out.

These pressure groups and social organisations under the umbrella of ‘Sur Ehrngiew ki Nong Malki’ are KSU, FKJGP, HNYF, HYC and Seng Samla Malki.
