Shillong,April 8: Bharat Abhiyan Campaign held in the city today organised by the BJP Meghalaya.
National BJP Vice President , Incharge Jammu and Kashmir & Rajasthan Shri AVINASH RAI KHANNA who was in his two days visit to shillong city on 7 and 8th of April 2017. He kicked off and actively participated in Swatch Bharat Abhiyan organized by the BJP Members. Shri Arvinash Appealed to party worker and the public to dedicate at least two hours a week for this programme to bring awareness among the people to keep the public places clean. He said if the people are sensitized the result can be seen around. He also thanked the party workers for taking the initiative to organised this program. People of the Locality along with the others actively participated in this program. He urged the people to keep their locality clean and dirt free.
Before the program BJP general secretary David Kharsati paying tribute said, ““Before we start our programme, we will hold two-minute silence to pay respect to the departed soul of Vinod Khanna”. in the presence of Shri AVINASH RAI KHANNA and others.
The announcement caused a flutter within the party in no time, leaving Kharsati red-faced. Later, he issued a statement to the media, saying, “We wrongly observed two-minute silence and we are extremely sorry about it. We wish Khanna a long life.”
