Govt denies hospital’s negligence for baby’s death
Shillong, Jul 29 : The Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman Warr denies hospital’s negligence for baby’s death or any such allegations, informed that the Hospital had refused to admit the patient since all the wards were full. The patient was only recalled after arrangements for additional beds were made.
Ibankyntilin Umdor, were rushed her to the hospital on Tuesday morning. According to the reports the hospital refuses her to admit, after the hospital authorities came to know they hail from Mawlai Mawtawar, which is a containment area.
The family members then reached out to the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), a students’ group, seeking its intervention.
It was reportedly only after the HYC members intervened that Ganesh Das Hospital decided to recall the patient.
Later by evening Ibankyntilin, delivered the baby, soon after, baby died.
