Grant-in-aid released for Jal Jeevan Mission in Meghalaya

Shillong Dec 29:  A Grant-in-aid of ₹43,73.04 Lakh has been released for the implemention of
Jal Jeevan Mission in Meghalaya for 2020-21.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to twitter to announce the grant-in-aid.

“Thank PM Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Jal Shakti for bringing tap water connection to every rural household in the State,” Conrad said on twitter.

The State government has set its target to complete household tap connections across all rural areas of the State by December 2022 under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Jal Jeevan Mission is a project funded by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, which envisages to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.
