HANM supports demand to upgrade Mawsynram to civil sub division
Shillong, Mar 14: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) South Eastern Mawsynram Balat Border Circle (SEMBBC) has supported the demand to upgrade Mawsynram into a civil sub division.
It may be mentioned that Mawsynram legislator, Himalaya Shangpliang had made this demand during on going budget session of the Meghalaya Assembly.
According to HANM the demand to upgrade Mawsynram to a civil sub division is nothing new and it has been there for the past 20 years.
The president of the HANM circle Kyllang S Thongni said that Mawsynram block is one of the oldest and was set up in 1962.
Thongni said, “If the government wants to create more civil sub divisions and districts then Mawsynram should also be in the list.”
