Floriculture Expo cum Sale at the IBSD, Upper Shillong

Shillong, Jan 12: A Floriculture Expo cum Sale is underway at the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) Meghalaya Node, 5th Mile, Upper Shillong. This is being held under the aegis of the â€œBioeconomy from Bioresources program with special reference to North-East Indiaâ€ and as part of the â€˜Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsavâ€™ celebration to commemorate 75 years of Indiaâ€™s independence, under the leadership of Prof. Pulok K. Mukherjee, Director, IBSD, Imphal. This Expo aims to serve as a platform for the floriculture farmers of the State to showcase and provide a marketplace for their flowers and will extend for a few more weeks. The IBSD Orchidarium is open on all days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a weekly holiday on Wednesday. The Stateâ€™s Covid19 protocols will apply and masks will have to be worn, with entry allowed only for fully vaccinated persons and children will have to be accompanied by fully vaccinated adults. Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India.
