Thangskai village & JSU seeks disqualification of MBBS student for not being a permanent resident of the village

SHILLONG, SEP 11: The dorbar shnong of Thangskai and Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) on Monday requested health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh to disqualify one Ayush Kumar from the list of selected candidates for MBBS state quota as he is not a permanent resident of the village.

In a letter to Lyngdoh, the dorbar shnong of Thangskai said,“We demand that his name be strike out from the list of selected candidates for MBBS state quota as he is not a permanent resident of Thangskai village, East Jaintia Hills District.”

“The dorbar shnong of Thangskai village unequivocally condemns the fraudulent act of Ayush Kumar and we expect that the government will take immediate action on this matter,” it said.

The JSU said that the delegation has decided to seek further clarification from the district deputy commissioner on the decision to issue PRC to Ayush Kumar.

“The minister had told us that the government had accepted the documents which was sent by the DC office and found that Ayush Kumar had submitted a PRC issued by the DC office in 2021. She also insisted that the delegation seek more clarity from the DC concerned on the PRC issued to him,” it said.

Meanwhile, the JSU has urged all traditional heads to refrain from issuing NOC and residential certificates without any verification.
