Tibetan women urging countries to boycott Winter Olympics in Beijing

Shillong, Nov 26: The Tibetan Women’s Association living in exile all over the world has urged the countries all over the world to boycott the Winter Olympics to be held in Beijing in 2022.

Tenzing Dolma, president of the Central Executive Committee of the Tibetan Women’s Association appealed to boycott the Winter Olympics since China is “suppressing the cultural and religious freedom of people of Tibet.”

Dolma also thanked India for giving shelter to the Tibetans living in exile.

She also informed that the Tibetan Women’s Association would be seeking support from political parties of India and to raise the voice of Tibetan people.

“Will meet political leaders, appeal to them to support us in our fight,” the Tibetan Women’s Association president added.

Dolma also said that the Tibetan people want to know the whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama, who was allegedly abducted by Chinese authorities in 1995 at the age of six

The Tibetan Women’s Association also said that China is building mega dams in Tibet.

“So far 3000 dams have been built and rivers are being diverted for the purpose,” Dolma said.
