Shillong, Jun 6: On the sixth day of Meghalaya Environment Week, a Nature Walk cum Cleaning Drive event was organized at Khlaw Malki in the early hours Monday by the Meghalaya Basin Development Agency office.
Participants who volunteered for the event braved the inclement weather to clean the forests above Malki Locality travelling from Lum Balang all the way to Lumsohphoh, picking up thrash strewn along the trails of the forest.
They were led by a number of Forest rangers from the nearby Forest Department outpost so that they could be kept safe along the trail.
Afterwards the garbage collected was carefully disposed at nearby collection site. After which volunteers were given certificates for their work.
