Shillong, Aug 2: A total of 11, 00,558 doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been administered in the state till date, health authorities informed.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that 8, 97,957 persons have received the first dose and 2, 02,601 the second dose so far.
Dr. War informed that on Monday, a total of 11,075 persons were vaccinated.
Of these 159 were health care workers, 1070 were frontline workers, 5735 were those between the 18 years to 44 years age group and 4111 were over 45 years.
The Director of Health Services also informed that of the 1070 Covid-19 beds spread across the state 546 are occupied and 524 are vacant.
Dr. War also informed that of the 13 deaths reported on Monday one was of a two month old child from Sohbar Village, East Khasi Hills district.
Meanwhile, in view of the spike in cases the East Khasi Hills district administration has imposed night curfew from 8 pm to 5 am daily with a view to restrict all non-essential movement and ensure that there is no unnecessary mingling of people either in private or public.
The district administration also said that it has been seen that many vehicles without curfew passes are plying during curfew hours and also there are incidents detected of misuse of essential passes including those of government departments.
“Henceforth strict action will be taken against people who ply during curfew hours without valid curfew passes/essential duty passes or who misuse any passed,†Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo said.
