Nabon to be screened at Northeast Film Festival in Pune

Shillong Jan 30: The film, Nabon – A Journey of Faith, will once again feature for screening at the Northeast Film Festival to be held at Pune from February 1 to 3.

Nabon will be screened on February 3 at 11 am.

The festival “Fragrances from the Northeast” is being organized by the Symbiosis Ishanya Cultural & Education Centre (SICEC), the Department of Symbiosis International University, Pune in collaboration with the National Film Archives of India (NFAI) and North-East Community Organization in Pune (NECOP). The festival will be held at NFAI Campus.

The SICEC is organising this festival to bring unity in the North East and the whole country, and the festival is being organized for the fourth time after successfully hosting the festival from 2014 to 2018.

Nabon is a film produced by the Jingiaseng Samla KJP Synod Sepngi and directed by K.K. Kharlukhi. The film was arranged by Carol’s Production and Filmtel inc.

The film talks about the life of Nabon, the first Christian in Khasi Jaiñtia hills of Meghalaya and the events that took place from 1841 onwards at Mawmluh and Sohra area. It also highlights problems and challenges that Nabon faced in her journey to know about Christ.

This is the fourth time that the film has been selected to participate in such a film festival. The film was first screened at the Festival of the Arts – Experiencing the North East in New Delhi, followed by the 24th Kolkatta International Film Festival and the 11th International Guwahati Film Festival.

The Jingiaseng Samla KJP Synod Sepngi expressed its gratitude to all participants in the film and all those who have helped in making this film a success.
