Shillong, Sept 4: Meghalaya Health Minister, A L Hek inaugurated the new initiatives at the Reid Provincial Chest Hospital in the city which include Ultrasonography Centre, OPD Casualty and Laboratory funded under the PMJAY- MHIS, 2019.

Chairperson, Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW), Theilin Phanbuh, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr A War, Director of Health Services ( MCH& FW) cum Joint CEO Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS), Dr. L M Pdah, Additional Medical Superintendent, Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Dr B. Thangkhiewmatrons and staff of the hospital and others were present.

During his brief address at the programme, the Health Minister congratulated the entire team of doctors and staff of the hospital for their hard work and dedication in their endeavour of serving the citizens of the state through the hospital.

The minister also called upon health officials to sustain their efforts at enhancing the quality of service in the interest of patients of the hospital and the state as a whole.

During the programme, the minister along with the other dignitaries released a booklet entitled ‘Celebrating 6 months of PMJAY- MHIS 2019’ which documents the journey of the implementation of phase IV of the MHIS in the last 6 months at RP Chest Hospital, Shillong.
