Shillong Jan 23: BJP MLA, Sanbor Shullai along with state BJP President and a host of BJP leaders and members, met the Union Tribal Affair Minister, Arjun Munda in New Delhi and discussed various affairs of the state and sought the Central support for various departments funded by the Ministry of tribal affairs for the overall development of the state.

The delegation also sought the support of the Union minister to sanction projects related to tribal tourism which include development of Orchid Polo for creation of more jobs besides revenue generation.

Shullai also sought Munda’s support to develop Seng Khasi Mawkhar and Raid Laban Cultural Centre to promote indegenious Khasi culture.

The state BJP President, Ernest Mawrie sought the Minister’s intervention to help the four newly joined BJP MDCs of JHADC get development schemes as they have raised their concerns to the state BJP for not getting the required support from the Central schemes. The issue was also taken with with BJP national general secretary, Ram Madhav regarding the concerns of the MDCs.

The Union minister has assured that he would discuss the matter with the Chief Minister of the state. He also assured that he would give special consideration to projects submitted by BJP MLA, Sanbor Shullai.
