Shillong Mar 11: The Dorbar Shnong Jongksha on Wednesday clarified that the village has no hand in the mob lynching incident at Lad Mawlang and urged the law enforcing people to thoroughly investigate in order to establish the root cause that led to the horrific incident that took the life of the youth, Macmilan Kharshandi from Madanrting.

In a statement, Sordar (headman) of Dorbar Shnong Jongksha, Olet Kharsahnoh said that the Dorbar Shnong Jongksha strongly condemned the incident and barbaric act at Lad Mawlang on Sunday which led to the loss of precious life and injured other youths who were attacked mercilessly by mob after they returned from the tourist spot at Syntung village.

“As we condemn this incident, we also wanted to clarify that in no way was the Dorbar Shnong Jongksha involved in the incident, as has been falsely spread on social media,” Kharsahnoh said.

The Dorbar Shnong Jongksha conveyed its condolence to the parents and family of late Macmilan and wished for early recovery of the injured youths.

“We urge the law enforcing people to investigate thoroughly in order to establish the real cause of the incident especially the instigators,” Kharsahnoh said.

Kharsahnoh also thanked the police of Madanrting police station under the leadership of Mr Barman, for tackling the situation.
