Shillong, Mar 17: Meraj Dey, a young cyclist from North Dinajpur district of West Bengal, has successfully completed a 2000km journey on his bicycle from New Delhi to Meghalaya. The 47-day journey, which began on January 26, aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage people to adopt eco-friendly practices.

Dey’s mission was to highlight the stark contrast between the polluted city of New Delhi and the pristine environment of Meghalaya. By cycling through various cities and towns, he witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of pollution and the importance of preserving natural beauty.

During his journey, Dey interacted with locals, sharing his message of sustainability and the need to protect the environment. He emphasized the benefits of cycling, not only for personal health but also for reducing pollution and promoting a cleaner environment.

As Dey reached Meghalaya, he was struck by the state’s natural beauty and the efforts of its people to preserve it. He praised the locals for their commitment to environmental conservation and encouraged them to continue their good work.

Dey’s journey reminds us of the importance of protecting our environment and promoting sustainable practices. His message is simple yet powerful: by making small changes in our daily lives, such as cycling instead of driving, we can contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.
