Shillong, Dec 23: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, Ampareen Lyngdoh who had filed the petition against the 12 former legislators of the party who defected to the TMC on Thursday said that she respects the order of Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh and made it clear that she personally will not pursue the matter further.

According to Lyngdoh in 2022, the campaign for the 2023 assembly elections will take priority even as she added that the party’s president Vincent Pala will make a final decision on the matter.

The CLP leader said, “As a CLP we took the available space to move a petition against the desertion, this being an opportunity to object to the manner in which the exodus, disclosed, hence no regret on that.”

Lyngdoh added that taking the matter forward would be an unnecessary diversion from the task before the party.

“We still have our election platforms to continue discussion on this betrayal and at the end of the day, the public will decide and present their verdict on come election results,” Lyngdoh added.
