Shillong, Jun 10: The results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Arts were announced on Friday.

In the SSLC examination the pass percentage was 56.96 percent while for the HSSLC (Arts), the pass percentage was 81.17 percent.

In the SSLC examination, Amebaaihunsha Kharbhih of St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Marbisu and Arghadeep Saha a student of a private institution shared the top position.

The top 20 positions were shared from schools across the state.

The second position was also shared between – Menangmankhraw Kharkongor of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Rilaakor Lamare of Auxilium Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

The third position was bagged by Vijay Adhikari of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

Meanwhile, in the HSSLC (Arts) results, Ramyank Nilabh Chakraborty of Don Bosco College Tura bagged the first position, Bahunlang Mawrie of Auxilium Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong the second position and Vijay Adhikari of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong the third position.

The fourth position was shared between Hadassa Mebaker Lyngdoh of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Dajied Kynsai Sungoh of Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Ummulong.

In the SSLC examination East Jaintia Hills recorded the highest pass percentage with 82.36 while, South West Garo Hills recorded the lowest with 26.45 percent.

Almost all the districts in Garo Hills region recorded a pass percentage below the overall average of 56.96 percent.
