Shillong, Sep 30: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday distributed cheques amounting to Rs.13.70 lakhs to 17 Producer Groups at Zikzak, South West Garo Hills through the Farmer’s Collectivization for Upscaling Production and Marketing Systems (FOCUS) programme.
FOCUS is Meghalaya’s biggest Farmers’ welfare program and through it, the Govt envision to make a positive impact in the lives and livelihoods of the farmers.
Interacting with the producers group, Chief Minister said that Govt of Meghalaya will work closely with farmers organisation to ensure that they get maximum support from the Govt to leverage their agricultural activities.
Sanhma also informed that the government of Meghalaya is committed towards welfare of farmers and would continue to provide financial assistance under the FOCUS programme.
