SHILLONG, MAY 16: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr LR Bishnoi on Tuesday informed that a meeting was convened by the Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home Prestone Tynsong with the state police and BSF officials.
Speaking to reporters, Bishnoi said the state police have insisted that the BSF to handover the three personnel involved in the killing of a civilian recently at Mawshun village.
“That is what we insisted that as per court order they (BSF personnel) should be handed over. Let see he (Tynsong) will discuss with the higher authority because central government employees there are certain provisions are there so they have to go as per their provisions,†the DGP said.
According to him, the case is under investigation and whole matter is subjudice.
When asked, Bishnoi said that the BSF has assured during the meeting to take follow up action as per their Act.
Roning Nongkynrih of Jalynteng village, was shot dead by BSF personnel while he was ferrying cattle in a lorry.
