GSU Southern Zone submits memo to Chief Minister

Shillong Apr 18: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has assured the Garo Student’s Union, Southern Zone delegation, who submitted a memorandum to him seeking his intervention on the need to upgrade NH-62 and NH 62 (E) into double land in South Garo Hills district.

The Chief Minister told the delegation that the government was committed to improve road connectivity in the state and adequate thrust would be accorded to improve road, communication and connectivity in the region.

The other demands submitted by the GSU included setting up of Me.ECL Division Office at Baghmara, upgradation of Baghmara Civil Hospital, upgradation of school infrastructure and teaching staff at Baghmara Government Higher Secondary School, improve the dilapidated condition of PWD roads, upgradation of building for various Government departments.
