Shillong, Jan 4: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) in Nongkrem constituency has been dissolved and its leaders have resigned as a mark of protest against the recent decision of the party to allot party ticket to Hilarius Warbah for the forthcoming elections to the KHADC, without consulting leaders of the party in constituency.
In a statement issued on Friday, president of the HSPDP Nongkrem constituency, Divinson Pyngrope informed that during the meeting, it was decided to dissolve the party in the constituency with immediate effect.
“We the leaders and supporters accordingly decided to quit and no longer support the party,†he said.
The HSPDP Nongkrem constituency accused the Central body of the party of disrespecting them, and the decision of the Central leadership to allot ticket to Hilarius Warbah was done without any consultation with leaders of the party in Nongkrem constituency.
