Shillong, Oct 12: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) said that the party will support United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate, Eugeneson Lyngdoh in the Mawphlang bye-election.

HSPDP president, K. P. Pangniang said that the party did not put up candidates in the bye elections since it wanted to work together with the UDP.

Pangniang said that pending unification of the regional parties the party will work together will other regional parties of the State.

“We want to show that the regional parties are united. In larger interest of the people of the state we will work together with every regional parties,” Pangniang said.

He also informed that the HSPDP will have it’s general council in the first week of December to elect new office bearers.
