Shillong Jan 25: KHADC chief executive member, Hispreaching Son Shylla said that he is yet to decide to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Shillong parliamentary seat.
“I am yet to decide on this matter, but it will depend on the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Kur, which is still in the formation stage now, whether they will allow me to contest or not,†Shylla told reporters here on Friday.
Shylla, who is the sitting MDC from Nongkrem constituency has already announced his decision not to contest the upcoming polls to the KHADC slated for February 27.
Shylla is heading an adhoc committee of the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Kur (KSRK), a conglomerate clans said, he is focusing on how to strengthen the tribal clan organisations instead of contesting elections. There are over 3,000 tribal clans spread across Khasi and Jaiñtia.
“Through the Synjuk, we can educate the people how to elect good public representatives too,†he said.
Shylla informed that the general council of the Synjuk will be held at Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture in the city on February 2.
