Shillong, Sept 23: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council has decided to ask the state government to return the Land Bill and other Bills which are pending for Governor’s assent.

After the Executive Committee meeting on Monday, KHADC chief, Teiñwell Dkhar told reporters that as many as 30 Bills passed by the House are pending with the district council affairs department.

“We have decided to write to the state government to return these Bills especially the Land Bill, which was pending since 2014,” he said.

Dkhar said that there has been no communication from the state government on the status of these Bills. “If there are any querries, the state government should return the Bill with suggestions,” he asserted.

Executive member in charge Land, Titostarwel Chyne on the other hand said that the land committee constituted by the Council has recommended the need to fine tune the Land Bill.
