Shillong, Oct 12: A lady was killed by slitting her throat while her husband suffered minor neck injury in a heinous crime carried out by perpetrators at Jowai, in West Jaiñtia Hills district.

Police said that they received information at around 12:23 pm about the incident and on reaching the house, the body was found inside a place where the gas cylinder was kept.

 Police suspected that the lady was kept there after she was killed.

 The deceased was the teacher at a private school identified as Daphibanker Phawa (29) and her husband Shwamiki Law (30).

Law was first taken to Civil Hospital and then shifted to Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai for treatment.

Police will begin the investigation by taking the statement of the husband of the lady.

Police said that after serving food to her children, Daphibanker Phawa went to her bedroom for reading. After this, police said that no one saw about what had happened to her, as the body was found in a pool of blood in the house with her throat slit.

 Investigation is on to find the culprit.
