Shillong Aug 30: The Meghalaya government has engaged the Indian Hotels Co. Ltd (Taj Vivanta) to operate the 5-star hotel ‘Crowborough’ in the city.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in the presence of Tourism Minister, Metbah Lyngdoh signed the agreement to grant the Indian Hotels Co. Ltd (Taj Vivanta) to operate the hotel which is yet to be completed till date.
Terming the signing of the agreement as positive step for tourism and hospitality sector, the Chief Minister said that the hotel once completed, will greatly benefit tourists who are looking for quality accommodation during their stay in the state capital.
Crowborough Hotel was conceptualized in the late 1980s, but the construction of the hotel has been delayed due to various hurdles including wrangles in the court.
