National Games Organizing Committee holds meeting on state’s preparedness

Shillong, Jan 24 : The National Games Organizing Committee held a meeting on Friday which was attended by Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, Minister, Sports & Youth Affairs, Banteidor Lyngdoh, Minister, PWD (Buildings), Coming One Ymbon and Minister, Urban Affairs, Hamletson Dohling.

The meeting was also attended by members of Meghalaya State Olympic Association.

The meeting took some important decisions regarding the National Games 2022 and informed the committee about different steps taken by the State government.

Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma said, the meeting discussed the locations and venues for hosting various disciplines and the venues were finalized in terms of the infrastructure that have been created and different aspects of the locations for the training .

The Chief Minister also informed that the State government has mobilized Rs 450 crore from different ministries and departments of the Central government

“We are working and committed to host the games the preparations are on the track to ensure we are ready for 2022,” he said.

The meeting also discussed the preparedness of departments like Power, PHE, Urban Affairs, Roads for the games.

The resource and infrastructure of different institutions like IIM, NEHU and Assam Rifles to host the games or used as practicing areas was also discussed.
