Shillong, June 19: In a major reshuffle in the Meghalaya police department, several police officers have been transferred and some of them have been reposted to the post they had earlier held.

Superintendent of Police (Anti-Infiltration) Sylvester Nongtnger has been appointed as the district police chief for East Khasi Hills district replacing the incumbent Claudia Lyngwa who would now take charge as Commandant of 1st MLP Battalion.

Former SP (City) Vivek Syiem who currently held the post of SP (Anti-Infiltration) has been brought back as Superintendent of Police (Shillong City).

However Superintendent of Police (Shillong City), Bikram D Marak, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police West Jaiñtia Hills district replacing Lakador Syiem who has been transferred as SP (Anti-Infiltration).

Vivekanand Singh, the incumbent district police chief of East Jaiñtia Hills has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (CID) in place of Aditya Goenka who is now posted as Superintendent of Police for Fire and Emergency Services.

Deputy Commandant of 4th MLP battalion Deepak Kumar Palecha was promoted and would take charge as Superintendent of Police for East Jaiñtia Hills district.

Nazarius Lamare has been posted as Superintendent of Police for Ri Bhoi district replacing Chemphang Syrti who would take charge as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Law and Order).

Bruno Sangma, Commandant of 5th MLP battalion has been transferred as Superintendent of Police for East Garo Hills district replacing Ringrang T.G. Momin who would now take charge as Superintendent of Police (Anti-Infiltration), Shillong.

Superintendent of Police (VIS) Billy Graham Marak will now take charge as Commandant of of 5th MLP battalion.

Herbert G. Lyngdoh has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for West Khasi Hills district replacing B.J Laloo as second-in Command, SF-10, Shillong.

Jubi G. Momin would now take charge as Commandant 6th MLP battalion replacing Mary G.T. Sangma who is now appointed as Principal of Police Training School.
