Shillong, Sept 20: The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of West Jaiñtia Hills district on Thursday apprehended a lady and seized 14.06 grams of heroin at ïawmusiang, Jowai.
West Jaiñtia Hills district Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem said that acting on a tip off, the ANTF at about 11 am apprehended one Graceful Sumer (37) of Caroline Colony, Jowai.
The 14.06 grams of heroin was hidden in a soap box at a tea stall at Iawmusiang Jowai and the same was seized in the presence of independent witnesses.
The SP said that a case under section 21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is being taken up, and investigation is on to ascertain others involved in the trafficking and the source of this consignment that was brought to Jowai.
