Shillong, November 13: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is organizing the 2 nd International Conference on Recent Innovations and Developments in Mechanical Engineering (ICRIDME 2024), during November 14-16, 2024 at the State Convention Centre, Shillong. Established in 2013, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Meghalaya offers a robust academic program encompassing B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. degrees. The department strives to contribute meaningfully to the field through quality education and research.
The department’s undergraduate program has been accredited two times by the NBA. In 2018, the department organized the first ICRIDME. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the second edition of ICRIDME was delayed. The 2 nd ICRIDME 2024 serves as a premier platform for sharing the latest advancements in mechanical engineering. The event will be graced by distinguished Prof. Rakesh Sehgal, NIT Hamirpur, as Chief Guest and Prof. Sudipta De, Jadavpur University, as Guest of Honor. ICRIDME 2024 is set to bring together faculty members, researchers, students, practitioners, and technocrats from academia, government and non- government organizations, as well as industry professionals.
The conference aims to foster discussions and exchanges on the latest research and developments across all areas of mechanical engineering. Distinguished academicians will deliver plenary and keynote speeches, shedding light on emerging trends and significant advancements in cutting-edge technologies. The conference seeks to make a substantial contribution to the goals of diversification and sustainable development, focusing on the challenges faced by the northeast regions, including Meghalaya. The scope of ICRIDME 2024 is to offer a collaborative platform where researchers and engineers from various branches of mechanical engineering can share their research findings and propose innovative solutions for both current and future challenges.
The conference features selected 97 technical presentations out of 170 submissions, hosting over 100 delegates across the nation. The full papers to be presented during the conference will be published in the Springer Proceedings, and selected papers will be considered for publication in some reputed international journals. The department acknowledges the financial support received from the North East Council (NEC) and the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) for organizing this event. The department also acknowledges the unwavering support received from the Patron, Advisory Committee Members, Reviewers, and Resource Persons.
