NEW DELHI, Fev 01: In recognition of exceptional service and professional excellence, 30 officers and personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have been conferred the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service, and Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2026.
According to an official press release issued by the CISF Headquarters, the awards honour personnel who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in safeguarding critical national infrastructure, airports, metro systems, industrial installations, and other sensitive establishments across the country.
Top Honours for Senior Leadership
The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, one of the highest peacetime honours in internal security, was awarded to:
Shri S.R. Saravanan, IPS, Inspector General, Sector Headquarters, Chennai
Shri Navajyoti Gogoi, IPS, Inspector General, NS Headquarters, New Delhi
Smt Pratibha Agarwal, Inspector General, Force Headquarters, New Delhi
The President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Shri Mahendra Kumar Sharma, ASI (Fire), posted at GSTPP, Gadarwara, for exemplary service in fire safety operations.
Meritorious Service Recognised Across Ranks
A total of 24 CISF personnel, ranging from Deputy Inspector General to Head Constable, received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, reflecting operational excellence across executive, ministerial, and technical cadres. The awardees include officers deployed at strategically vital locations such as the Taj Mahal complex, Delhi Metro, airports, nuclear facilities, power plants, and space and defence installations.
In the fire services category, two officers—P. Balakrishna, DC (Fire), CS HQ Bhilai, and Abhay Kumar Singh, AC (Fire), PTPS Paricha—were awarded the Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service for their contribution to industrial and emergency fire response operations.
Force-Wide Recognition
CISF Headquarters has directed all zones and sectors to ensure wide dissemination of the achievement through regional media, highlighting the role of CISF personnel in strengthening India’s internal security architecture.
The honours underscore CISF’s expanding operational footprint and its critical role in protecting key national assets amid evolving security challenges.
