Shillong, Apr 11: Ganja weighed about 497 kg was seized in Meghalaya from a truck by custom sleuths.
Deputy commissioner of customs (preventive), Isaac Kharkongor, said that a rubber-laden truck bearing the registration number (UP53-ET-2607), on its way from Tripura towards Guwahati was intercepted by custom officials at Mawryngkneng along the national highway-44 on Wednesday.
Two persons – driver and handyman – were also apprehended.
Officials said that the ganja was packed in 54 packets and were concealed inside the truck.
