Shillong, July 13: City police on Thursday seized 9 litres of adhesive denrites from a hardware shop, allegedly being sold to juveniles.
A raid was conducted at M/S ZS Hardware Polo Bazar here, owned by one Narul Choudhary of 4th Furlong. The team was led by SI Sunny Lynrah along with the special party of Sadar PS.
A Case U/S 77 JJ Act is being taken up against the shop owner, a police officer said.
A fine of Rs 2 lakh was imposed as per the new provision of the juvenile justice act.
Earlier, police personnel of Sadar Police Station had caught one businessman for selling dendrite to juveniles at Khyndai Lad.
Meanwhile, police have requested the public to provide information to them whenever they notice such activities taking place in their locality.
“The society can free from drug menace and other substances only if the public and the police together fight this deadly problem,” a police officer said.
