Shillong Aug 21: Meghalaya Governor, Ganga Prasad has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Sikkim, and in his place, Tripura Governor, Tathagata Roy was transferred and appointed as the new Governor of Meghalaya.

The transfer and appoitnment was issued by the President, Ram Nath Govind, a communique said on Tuesday.

The above appointments will take effect from the dates the incumbents assume charge of their respective offices.

Ganga Prasad took oath as Governor of Meghalaya on October 5 last year.
