Shillong, Oct 29: Gambegre MLA and Chairman of the State Programme Implementation & Monitoring Committee, Saleng A Sangma has written a letter to Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma urging the government to immediately install street lights in some parts of Shillong City.

Saleng, who is also the resident of Mawpun at Golflink area told the Chief Minister that areas falling under Polo Hills, Golflink, Mawpun,Shyiap,Mawpat and PTS Road have no street lights and posed threats to pedestrians who passed through these areas especially at night.

“In the recent past, there have also been numerous crimes that were committed and even today, criminal activities are still happening in and around the area,” Saleng said in the letter.

The MLA requested the government to provide some solar street lights or any other street lights for safety and security of people living in these areas.
