Tura, Dec 7: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma distributed tablets to Class XII students at a function at Tura Government College Auditorium, on Friday.
Co-Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board, Billykid A Sangma, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills district, Ram Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer, Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division, Swapnil Tembe, Extra Assistant Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Dimse A Sangma, Principal, Tura Government College, Terence D Marak, teachers and students attended the function.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister urged everyone to do what they can for the youth because only when the youth have the capacity then development moves forward.
Talking about the importance of time in everyone’s life, the Chief Minister said that when he was with his cabinet colleagues, he always advised them to work for the people as there is no tomorrow and should not wait for the last year to implement their schemes in their respective constituencies. He urged everyone to have a goal in life so that they can become responsible citizens in future and take the state forward.
The Chief Minister advised students to make use of the tablets in the right way which is beneficial for them in their school related learning activities and urged them to work hard by maintaining discipline and contribute to the progress and prosperity of the state in the near future.
The Chief Guest distributed the tablets to the students under the “Digital Learning Aid Scheme†for the year 2018-19. So far, about 4092 students from 48 schools of the area will be benefited from this scheme.
