Shillong, May 27: Chairman of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Sanbor Shullai conducted an inspection to the hotel Crowborough at Khyndailad here on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Shullai, who is also the South Shillong legislator, said that the construction work is in progress.
“They have also given the commitment to complete the hotel by next year,” he said.
This was the chairman’s second inspection to the construction site this year.
It was also informed that the department of Tourism is monitoring the progress of work and is also seeking report every month.
Shullai while admitting the delay to complete the hotel even after a gap of 33 years said, “I have asked them that they should ensure that it is completed on time.”
Asked, the chairman said once the hotel is completed, it will really pave way for employment opportunities besides increasing the revenue generation of the state government.
According to him, it will also address the problem faced by tourists due to lack of accomodation.
The hotel will be having a total of 101 rooms with five star facilities.
