Shillong July 2: The Dorbar Shnong Urkaliar has prayed for the utilisation of a barren space in the entire stretch of the roadside at Urkaliar to construct a footpath for the benefit of the general public.

A letter submitted to Hek by the Dorbar Shnong Urkaliar which was jointly signed by the headman, T Wajri, secretary S Diengdoh and assistant headman, J S Nongsiej brought to the notice of the government through the MLA that a barren space in the entire stretch of the roadside which is covered with thick vegetation and looks very untidy and wasted.

“We feel that this could be best utilised for construction of a footpath as it will bring about cleanliness, beautify the place and most importantly bring about safety to commuters,” the joint letter stated.

The Dorbar Shnong urged Hek to do the needful from his end for the overall betterment of the general public.
