Shillong,June 07: The BSF troops deployed at Umsyiem, East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended a Maruti Alto bearing No. ML-05-M-9184 near International Border on cattle smuggling.

On the suspicious move of the vehicle near the international border the BSF party stopped the vehicle and nabbed two Indian cattle smugglers with 02 nos cattle while being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. The cattle smugglers is identified as Sonwell 17 yrs of age a resident of Lapalang village PO/PS Pynursla, East Khasi Hills and Jewellson Kharwan 18 yrs of age a resident of Nongsdar PO/PS Pynursla, East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.

The team also seized 02 mobile phones with 02 Indian SIM card and Indian currency Rs. 4380/- from their possession.

The BSF also seized the Alto car in which cattle were laden by smugglers in same Umyiem area.Apprehended persons and seized items handed over to concern department for further legal action.
