Shillong, July 25: The Meghalaya SSA Schools’ Association has served a 15-day deadline to the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) to rectify all anomalies detected in the result of the Diploma of Elementary Education (D.EL.ED).
Serving a legal notice to the NIOS chairman, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, MSSASA’s legal counsel, K. Chisa asked the institute to take emergent step to remove the anomalies within 15 days, failing which, the MSSASA will be compelled to approach the court of law to redress various grievances caused due to negligence on the part of NIOS.
“They will be compelled to seek adequate compensation and direction from the court of law,” Chisa added.
Asking the NIOS to issue original marksheet and certificate to the members who appeared in the examination, he said that failing which, the MSSASA will not be responsible for the costs and consequences if the legal remedy is sought.
According to him, the MSSASA is having a total of 12,481 members (SSA teachers) who had undergone the D.EL.ED programme since 2013-2014.
He said that teachers could not obtain professional certificate till date for the purpose of possessing the qualification as trained teacher, while the programme was expected to be completed within December 16, 2015.
Referring to several representations submitted by the MSSASA in the past on this regards, Chisa said, “You (NIOS) have failed to reply rather you have kept my client in the dark.”
He also pointed out that anomalies still continue till date though the NIOS had declared the result of the same examination thrice, on September 9, 2016, November 4, 2016 and June 22 this year respectively.
According to him, the MSSASA hoped that the anomalies might have been removed but it was not done except correction done half-heartedly for few candidates.
“The lackadaisical and lethargic attitude in the matter has made the members of my client, who appeared the above examination as worst sufferer and their grievances still remained unattended,” he added.
