Shillong, September 6, 2025: The Meghalaya Editors’ and Publishers’ Association (MEPA) has elected its new office bearers for the next three-year term during its general meeting held at Shillong Club on Saturday.
R Monarch Shabong was reelected as President, while John W. Thabah retained his position as General Secretary.
The Vice Presidents elected include Dr. Kamal K. Jhunjhunwala, Rajib Choudhuri, Markus M. Thaïang, Raphael Warjri, and Russel Nongrum.
John Lyngdoh and Purbasha Bhattacharjee were elected as Joint Secretaries. Kyrmen Uriah was reelected as Organising Secretary, while Deimebanda Blah was reelected as Treasurer.
Seven Executive Members were also elected at the meeting — Justice Marweiñ, E M Jose, Apporlet Shabong, Starfing Pdahkasiej, Deimaïa Siangshai, Sunday Sumer, Dominic Savio Diengdoh, and Banker Lapang.
The meeting also deliberated on several key issues concerning media houses and working journalists in the state.
The open session of the general meeting was graced by Information and Public Relations Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, in the presence of Commissioner & Secretary (IPR) Vijay Kumar Mantri and Director of Information and Public Relations Batlang Sohliya.
