Shillong, October 17: Paul Lyngdoh, MLA of West Shillong, conducted an extensive visit across his constituency on Thursday, covering areas such as Stand Jeep and Iewduh, to review the progress of ongoing and proposed development projects.
Speaking to the media during the inspection, Lyngdoh said, “I am happy to share that, in the presence of residents and officials from various government departments, we have made significant progress on several projects. One of the components of this work is already covered under the 25-junction project announced by the Jeep Resistor a few months ago, during which I was also present.”
He added that a major focus now is on rejuvenating existing infrastructure. “The ICL has extended full support and prepared detailed estimates for the rejuvenation and innovation of existing load systems. Within a few weeks, we expect to finalize the project details and begin implementation,” Lyngdoh said.
He further informed that a joint meeting will soon be held with the chairman of the concerned department to discuss solutions, facilitate installation of the required infrastructure, and enable contractors to take possession and commence work.
“This inspection marks the first step, and we will continue to keep the public informed. We expect ground-level work to start shortly and aim to complete the projects before the Christmas season of 2025,” Lyngdoh concluded.
