NONGPOH, MAR 27: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Sohlait Rim Unit on Friday kicked off a two-day football tournament aimed at encouraging sportsmanship and youth engagement in the area.

The tournament, which began today and will conclude tomorrow, is being organised under the leadership of unit president Rishot Lapang.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by John Lyngdoh, President of KSU Nongpoh Circle, who officially declared the tournament open. He was joined by Organising Secretary Samborlang Basaiamoit, Education Secretary David Marwei, and other members of the union.

The opening match saw Sohlait Rim deliver a dominant performance against Sohlait Thymmai, registering a 3–0 victory to start their campaign on a strong note.

The tournament is expected to continue with competitive fixtures, drawing participation and support from local football enthusiasts over the two days.
