Shillong, Apr 5: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), following recommendations from its Cricket Advisory Sub-Committee, has announced the squads for the upcoming U-19 men’s and U-23 women’s NECDC tournaments, set to begin on Monday.

The tournaments, organised by the North East Cricket Development Council (NECDC), will be held from April 6 to 11 and feature teams from six northeastern states — Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim.

The U-19 men’s competition will take place in Nagaland, while the U-23 women’s tournament will be hosted in Sikkim.

Meghalaya heads into the tournament with confidence, having clinched both senior-level NECDC titles last year. The upcoming event presents a valuable opportunity for emerging cricketers to showcase their talent on the regional stage. A preparatory camp for both squads was conducted in Shillong from April 2 to 4.

MCA President James PK Sangma personally saw off the women’s team on Saturday and the men’s team on Sunday, extending his best wishes for a strong performance.
