Shillong, May 4: Balmanduri FC delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Attong Matgrik FC 7-1 in a Group G encounter of the 5th Meghalaya State League at Williamnagar today.

It was a repeat of their first-leg clash, where Balmanduri had also secured an identical 7-1 victory over the same opponents.

Chichang M. Momin was the standout performer, netting four goals (20’, 27’, 50’, 87’) with strikes in both halves. Ltchal Marak added a brace (36’, 66’), while Withnias G. Momin rounded off the scoring in stoppage time (90’). Sunil M. Marak scored the lone goal (58’) for Attong Matgrik.

In another match played at Wahiajer in Group E, Iatyllilang Lumsehkot CSC claimed their first win of the campaign, edging Lumphyrnai Sohphoh FC 2-1.

Having managed just one goal in their previous four matches, Iatyllilang Lumsehkot found form early, with Leiwanki Laban (9’) and Firstborn Tyngkan (22’) giving them a two-goal cushion. Sonowel Kharsati (79’) pulled one back for Lumphyrnai Sohphoh in the second half, but it was not enough to change the outcome.

Despite the win, Iatyllilang Lumsehkot remain out of contention for the pre-quarterfinals, as Shillong Lajong FC and Lumphyrnai Sohphoh FC had already secured qualification from Group E.
