SHILLONG, AUG 5: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday said the government is willing to discuss all public issues, but urged the Voice of the People Party (VPP) to take up its 10-point charter in the upcoming Assembly session instead of holding a protest.  

Reacting to VPP’s planned peaceful march to the Secretariat on Thursday, August 6, Sangma said the administration has been informed.
“You can have that discussion with the DC and SP. We have already briefed them,” he said.  

The CM stressed that the Assembly is the proper forum for raising concerns.

“We have always been open to discussion. The democratic process is that such issues are discussed in the Assembly, and the session is coming up very soon,” Sangma said.

“That is the correct platform. But apart from that, as a government we have never closed our doors to anyone. We are always ready to discuss any matter of public importance.”
