SHILLONG, AUG 19: Public Health Engineering Minister Marcuse N Marak has said reliable drinking water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission is critical as Meghalaya records rapid economic growth.
Chairing a review meeting on JJM 2.0 and IMIS data entry at Windermere, Shillong, Marak said inter-departmental coordination will be key to achieving the mission’s targets.
He added that the discussions should help the department identify ground challenges and draw up a focused action plan.
Chief Engineer RS Nongbri, in his address, stressed the need to assess progress, bridge gaps, and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
Commissioner & Secretary cum JJM Mission Director Pravin Bakshi presented data on Har Ghar Jal targets under CIRP, status of 100% completed schemes, field photo uploads, and the physical and functional progress across divisions.
District officers also briefed on implementation challenges and steps to expedite pending works.
The meeting emphasized accurate and timely IMIS data entry to reflect real-time progress.
Issues of coordination, accountability and timely execution of PHE works were also discussed.
Bakshi concluded by calling for sustained collaboration across all levels to address bottlenecks and push the mission forward.
