Shillong, September 4: Meghalaya’s young talent Erick Nongrum, winner of Mr Nature Meghalaya 2025 and Mr Baisakhi 2026, has been selected as the only teen finalist from the state to represent Meghalaya at Mr Teen Royal Northeast India 2027, scheduled to be held in Guwahati, Assam, from January 3 to 7, 2027.
The selection marks another significant milestone in Nongrum’s journey in the pageantry and youth development space, as he prepares to represent Meghalaya at the regional-level competition.
Beyond pageantry, Nongrum has chosen to use his platform to advocate for women’s empowerment and raise awareness against rape and sexual abuse, with a focus on encouraging greater awareness and respect for women and girls in society.
Speaking about his upcoming participation, Nongrum said he feels honoured to have been selected to represent Meghalaya and is seeking the support, blessings and votes of the people of the state as he takes part in the competition.
He said the opportunity is not only a personal achievement but also a chance to represent Meghalaya and make the state proud on a larger platform.
As preparations for the January event get underway, Nongrum is reaching out to the people of Meghalaya for their encouragement and support in helping him achieve his dream.
He has also invited people to follow his journey and support his participation through his Instagram account, @who.tf.ccc.
With his growing achievements in pageantry and his advocacy on issues concerning women and sexual violence, Nongrum hopes his participation will inspire other young people from Meghalaya to use their platforms to create greater awareness and bring about positive change in society.
