PM Vishwakarma Awareness Programme Held at Thadlaskein

Shillong, Sept 10: The Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office (BrMSME DFO), Shillong, under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, organised a PM Vishwakarma Awareness Programme at Thadlaskein C&RD Block in West Jaintia Hills on Thursday.

The programme focused on strengthening branding and marketing of products made by artisans covered under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

Assistant Director Grade-I, BrMSME DFO Shillong, Prabhat Kumar Singh, IEDS, delivered a presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and its various components.

The programme featured sessions on branding and marketing, product packaging, use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), financial literacy, digital payments and QR-code generation, social security schemes and Udyam Registration.

The programme adopted a multi-departmental convergence approach, with participation from officials and representatives of the Directorate of Commerce & Industries, Government of Meghalaya, State Bank of India, India Post Payments Bank and other stakeholders.

Participants were provided information on relevant government schemes, financial services and institutional support available to artisans. An Udyam Registration facilitation camp was also organised to assist artisans with formalisation of their enterprises.

Artisan success stories were shared during the programme, providing participants with practical insights into enterprise development, market access and utilisation of government support.

The programme aimed to create greater awareness among traditional artisans about opportunities for skill development, formalisation, access to finance, digital adoption, branding and market expansion under PM Vishwakarma and other government initiatives.
